Emotional Literacy Cards
The Life Skills GO Emotion Cards have been enhanced to provide even more support for teachers and students. The updated version now includes guiding questions paired with sample responses, making it easier for students to explore, understand, and regulate their emotions.
Here’s what’s new:
Guiding Questions + Sample Answers: Previously, the cards included thoughtful questions, but now each question is paired with example responses to help deepen understanding and spark meaningful discussions.
What Happens When You Feel…? Highlights observable actions associated with different emotions, helping students recognise their responses.
When Do You Feel…? Encourages students to connect their emotions to real-life events and triggers.
Where in Your Body Do You Feel…? Guides students to tune into physical sensations and mindful awareness.
NEW: How Can You Manage This Feeling…? Offers practical strategies for managing emotions, giving students actionable steps for self-regulation.
Teachers can use the Emotion Cards as a classroom poster, discussion tool, or reflection prompt—an adaptable resource designed to foster emotional awareness and growth.
The top 10 most common emotions checked in for 2024 have been refreshed to better reflect students’ everyday experiences:
Anger, Sadness, Tired, Worry, Happy, Calm, Energized, Content, Loved, and Grateful.
